Property Taxes

As State Senator, I am the only member of the General Assembly in the history of Pennsylvania to force a Governor into a special session.   

In 2002, I forced Governor Schweiker into a special session on property taxes.  That single action drove the issue of property tax relief/reform to the forefront of the General Assembly’s agenda. 

Since that time, various ideas and suggestions have been proposed.  Consequently, over the past few years there has been an honest dialogue and debate on property taxes that hasn’t occurred in over 30 years.  Nothing could be better for democracy.  And now, as of today, we are closer to providing the necessary tax relief that YOU deserve.
